2020 started for me with a Big Bang, as I was finally holding my soul project in my hands, I had been working on for many years, I AM–Celebrating the Perfect Imperfect, an edgy and artsy coffee-table book, featuring 121 women over the age of 40 up to 99, bold and elegant, raw and refined, featuring soulful nude portraits and personal texts. This book is an homage to the goddess in every woman and talks about self-love, authenticity, truth, age and body-positivity, no matter of the age number.

We organized the launch party in NYC in January. Author talks, book signing events had been aligned, press on an international level started pouring in. On a private level, we made up our minds to move back to France and started to put everything into action, including selling our house.

The Pandemic then got more and more intense, the confinement was hitting everybody. I see those chaotic times as a huge challenge to everyone. I profoundly believe that The Pandemic is a warning to the world and a cry for change on all levels. We are forced to dive inside, focus more on ourselves. It was no longer about what should be, it became about how I reacted to the new circumstances at every present moment. And this is totally my choice.

Banned at home, my professional work crashed—almost no more photo shoots, no more events and book-signings for the book…, resistance to what is, is not the way to grow.

Photography has always been my passion, my mission which came to an accomplishment with the I AM. Not allowing any frustration to set in, I still had the feeling of missing out of the momentum for quite a while. An illusion, a mind set!

It is a learning process, never close a door to change coming in your life.

During the more and more challenging times we managed to move, get out of our home and fly to France to start anew. Exciting, keeping it open, where will the road go? I learned to dive even deeper, ask myself unpleasant questions and welcome change, new spaces are opening up, living within every day, every moment.
